6 days in boracay

wish i had more time. its only been about 24 hours since i came back, and im going to have to go off for camp tomorrow morning alr. ok la no complains, since its going to be fun, but i miss my idle days haha. i guess i can only finish code geass after orientation is over lol. but ya i had to squeeze in this post before the camp cos im scared i'll forget haha.

anyway, phillipines was actually really fun, cos it was really free and easy. we had abit too much time though, so the activities were spread throughout all five days, but it was pretty relaxing. so the first day was kind of just exploring the island.

the sand here is really white and fine. and some parts of the beach there's actually algae :0, but apparently it helps to keep the sand white. we went to like the same place everyday. d'mall, d'mall, cos everything was there. occasionally went to the wet market at talipapa to eat, where u just buy the fish and veg direct, but otherwise we always go to d'mall lol.

second day was a trip to ariel's point. we kinda spent almost the whole day haha, even though there was not that much to do there actually. had a really good sleep cos the trip started at like 11 am, so yea free and easy is amazing :D.

anyway, took a boat there. the place was essentially a cliff la, just that they built different diving points. 3m, 4m, 5m, 8m, and 15m for the suicidal people lol. there were lots of caucasians there, and they kinda livened up the atmosphere, so at first everyone was cheering for the brave souls who jumped first, and the hesitant people who managed to get the courage to jump.

it was pretty darn hot though, so that was like one of the main reasons why i jumped haha. of cos i started with 3m la. i tot it'll be no kick haha, cos its like jetty jump, plus its supposedly better than pool cos u can't see the bottom, so it doesn't look so deep. but when i jumped, the last part was actually quite fast, so i came out shivering. pretty scary actually lol, even though it lasted like less than 1 sec.

after that, ppl got bored of diving, so we ate, then went to snorkel, though there wasn't much to see there except like dozens of sea urchins. damn there were so many lol. also did kayaking for about 1 hour, and it was much, much more relaxing than the one at OBS haha. or maybe my sister's just buff lol.

third day we tried helmet diving and snorkelling. snorkelling wasn't much here, cos there was a typhoon two years ago, so alot of dead corals. helmet diving was really interesting though. basically its a heavy helmet, and they pump air inside to balance the weight, and then u slowly climb the ladder down the boat and stand on the sea bed, which was about 10-15 meters deep.

the pressure built up damn fast though lol. every step down, had to open my mouth to get rid of the pressure. it was pretty scary at first haha. there were alot of fishes,  and most of the time we were made to pose for photos haha, like sitting on the coral, lying on the floor. there was one part where we were supposed to lift our helmets up over our head, but surprisingly, managed to keep my eyes open for the photo lol. so yea it was pretty interesting.

after that we went to some mountain track, where each of us drove mini atv's. din't go very fast la, but there were things to see on the way, mainly their village. at the top, there was an observation point, and the view is pretty amazing. it was really shuang up there, cos the wind was godly. its like the kind of wind u get on an open-air speedboat, except u don't have to move. and it just kept blowing. i think we just stood up there for 15 minutes enjoying the wind haha.

also ate good food that day. actually everyday we ate good food la. spent the most pesos there on meals, but there isn't much to say, except they make brinjals here taste really good haha.

fourth day was the best, cos there was jet-skis. they were amazing fun haha. the first round, there was one of them to teach us how to use it, and he went holy fast lol. me and my sis were like freaking out cos the whole thing just kept jumping and water sprayed like non-stop.

it was fun driving it ourselves though haha. i just hecked that the jet-ski kept swaying left and right, so just charged straight, so we just ended up shouting all the way haha. i kinda overshot lol, cos couldn't see the yellow flags that marked the point. i realise its hard to describe how it feels like, except its damn freakin fun :D

after that was the boat ski trip to crocodile island, which really looks like a crocodile on the horizon. the waves were like sea-sized huge that day though, so as much as we wanted to go there, as we approached the island, it got kinda scary, so we just went round the main island instead. the people here are pretty pro at driving, managing to tank those kind of waves with a small boat-ski. but sometimes they'll just charge forward, so it was pretty thrilling haha.

kinda slacked the rest of the day off lol. took the tricycle like thing, which is like a cross between a trishaw and a motorcycle, but i guess i can't really show much without pictures cos my sis haven't uploaded them. went to watch the sunset haha. we were just using my sis' compact, cos the dslr battery was crappy and dead. so couldn't use the polarizing filter.

and then i got an idea to makeshift a polarizing filter with our sunglasses. lol using physics XD. my sis was like so amazed when i turned the sunglass and the sun became as bright as the moon haha. we kinda spent like 30 minutes playing with trying to take the sunset through the sunglasses lol. was pretty fun and retarded :P

fifth day was christmas eve, tried to do parasailing in the morning, though i was pretty hesistant about it lol. and just the boat trip there was freaking me out already cos the waves were so big lol. i couldn't even look away or get myself to drink water. but it kinda rained halfway while my parents were up they had to come down immediately. i dunno whether im lucky or not lucky that i missed my chance haha.

so ended up spending the afternoon walking around and buying souvenirs and stuff. then we just burnt our time just swimming, cos it was damn hot lol. walked all the way to the nicer part of the beach, where there was no algae.

the waves were medium sized, so it was darn fun actually haha. just waited there and tried to run and intercept the big waves, and doing all sorts of random stuff like trying to jump over them haha. too bad we din't get any frisbee or board to play with, but it was pretty simple and fun all by itself.

ate a really nice meal that day too, some italian restaurant for lunch, and some seaside restaurant for dinner. the celebrations here take place on christmas day itself though, so we din't have much to do, but the streets were still pretty crowded with tourists. in the end din't really do much, and ended up watching tv while waiting for christmas haha.

then halfway, we heard fireworks from the room. was being fired from one of the boats, so it was pretty close and it was damn big and pretty :D. plus the big once had like secondary explosions. wonder how much it cost for them to do that haha. but that kinda compensates for our not so eventful day at least :D.

last day was spent travelling, and was dying of boredom cos it was so long. and its funny how i've finally got myself to dive, to take the jet-ski, to find the boat ski rushing over the waves thrilling, but im still scared of turbulences lol. but after all the crappy travelling, it felt really good to come back. i guess i was pretty happy, even though i did nothing for christmas haha.

ok la that's bout it liao, need to wake up at 5.50 tmr for the camp lol. set two alarms liao, but im still pretty worried i can't wake up tomorrow >.<. k la really need to sleep now bye ~~

mini christmas baking party :D

going to leave for phillipines soon, and i guess i can't really go without saying goodbye first lol. anyway, will be gone all the way till 26. another christmas spent overseas. at least i kinda had a mini celebration on monday, so yea :D

monday was pretty fun haha. though i kinda did nothing lol, cos i don't know my house well enough. oh well, first time baking haha. crack egg failll. thankfully there's chef ang (not me la) and the rest to cover for me. so altogether we made two gingerbread houses, some cookies, chicken burritos and rosti for dinner.

the gingerbread house was quite random lol, cos in the end, nicole and andreea din't really plan and just impromptu-ly built two seperate houses, then combined them with slopes, and put alot of gummy bears and mnm's on top. i din't realise it'll be such a kiddy thing to do lol, but it turned out pretty good. they even made some gummy bear cascade, just to use up all the bears haha.

i also kinda made one really small one haha. had to cut mine with a knife to shape the pieces though, and i cracked like countless biscuits, so i ended up eating half of the biscuits i used... anyway, the gingerbread houses are still in my fridge, since they all decided to just leave it there -.-. so my mum says might as well eat that for christmas. we're all going to die for diabetes :0

anyway, after all the cookie baking and cooking, and completely destroying the kitchen, we played the 'i have never' game again, which for some reason, doesn't seem to get old haha. this game is full of personal attacks though lol, so as usual, pin died very quickly :P.

we (sneakily) had to test our ARP too, but we were like heck, cos the games were too fun, so we just played all the way till 9:30. anyway, the game was to decide the order of drawing for the gift exchange, but in the end it din't matter cos we decided to make it random anyway. got some small pack of cards. and random stuff. and my bear in a box went to daryl haha. it was kinda girl-ish lol, but i din't know that daryl likes cute stuff.

ok la i'd like to write more, but i kinda procrastinated, plus im flying off in 4 hours, and i need to do something else. and since they all just came back, im probably going to miss whatever outing the rest of them might plan D:. ok la phillipines. i might even go visit my maid haha :D. ok la gtg now bye~~

slice of life

been watching so many slice of life animes recently haha. yea haven't blogged in awhile. its quite late now, but suddenly i feel like ranting about anime. ya being random.

so yea, im not dead yet lol. has been two days already. not really on my own haha. yesterday i had my second sis to help me, and today my eldest sis happen to have sore throat and was at home, so i kinda actually did nothing lol. heh i guess im lucky.

today, my eldest sis and my mum were making dinner at like 6:30, since i napped all the way from 4 lol. was quite chaotic, my mum cooks differently from my aunt, plus my eldest sis was quite lol, but of cos better than me la. kept 'arguing' lol, like how big the fire was, or how i cut my mushrooms haha. but fun la, even though i din't really do anything. so everyone kinda ate dinner together.

anyway, dunno what's been with my addiction to slice of life animes, but i've been watching like nichijou, little busters, and ore no imouto. oh and i super like ore no imouto. maybe im just making a big deal about it lol, but i think its damn good la lol. its like, the epic scenes just pop out of nowhere, and then the story is not bad too. its darn entertaining haha. im like trying to cut myself to one episode a day, so that it'll last longer, cos like after every episode i get high. the songs are nice too.

also every episode has a different ed la, just like inuboku lol. i wonder how they put so much effort into making this haha.

i guess im really an op freak lol. i don't know why i like them so much haha. i think its the lyrics too. maybe its cos i just get excited whenever i see the jap words that i just recently learned haha. i must be weird to think the code geass ops are fine. ok yea i din't like them at first, but after awhile i was fine with them. they kinda suit it even they sound bad lol.

ok la i cut down alot on what i wanted to say (luckily). shall just put this for my own self-satisfaction lolol.

been learning jap again, ever since jap class at the cc has been cancelled. permanently. nvr knew my phone could read pdfs. haha its really damn useful sia. im starting to think android is really useful after all, cos its OS can run alot of things. so yay now i can put tae kim's grammar guide on my phone without having to use 3G :D.

its an awesome and enlightening feeling when u finally reach a section that explains something that u have been wondering about for some time. but sometimes i also fall asleep reading it lolol. and i keep forgetting after awhile. but im pretty glad i suddenly got the motivation to continue again.

anyway, managed to organise the mini-christmas outing on monday :D. phew. i tot it won't happen, cos i always had trouble getting myself to invite ppl >.<. but ok ten people in total :D. i still don't really know what to do though other than baking + gift exchange. i only got inspired cos of the meatball thing we did at boon chong's house haha, but i don't even know what to make haha.

my mum suggested cake, since my sis' friends made them last time, but that sounds kinda too pro lol. aiyo i dunno la haha, i'll just take in any suggestions and look at alot of recipes, since this is my first time >.<. anyway, since i make a huge mess all the time, whether preparing food or eating, so my sisters had me make sure that i'll have to clean up whatever mess i make lolz. but yea, looking forward to it :D

home alone

yo its been a while since i last posted. i din't feel like i did much, but i guess i did go out abit lol. going to send my maid off tonight.

so tomorrow, it'll finally start. aha i feel really unprepared but somewhat excited at the same time lol. there's a chance that tmr my mum will just bring me out to eat. but at the same time, i kinda want to stay at home. just to see if i can actually survive alone haha.

anyway, my second sis was just discussing with me what to do from now on lol, and looks like she'll be handling most of the things now haha. laundry, cleaning. which means she can't go out so much :0. but alright, i assured her that at the very least, i'll do my own laundry and clean my room lol. and my eldest sis, aiyo dunno whether she'll do anything haha.

ok la enough about that, hasn't started yet anyway. last sunday went to the chalet at costa sands for png's birthday party. me and pin spent damn long shopping for the present, cos we suck at this lol. even took mrt to tampines just to do it. ended up it was some fusball table, which erm, im not sure whether he'll like. so we were kinda late.

was abit awkward at first, cos there were quite a lot of family members actually, and only andreea and junwei were there. they bought a 5 kg dumbbell for him lol. that was quite smart actually. anyway, the food was not bad, and the cake was nice. we spent most of the time playing bridge though lol. and drinking random drinks. the soda water was yuck haha.

we left at about 9, so followed pin, cos he had to buy groceries and food for his dad. then went to his house to slack awhile before heading out to pass some stuff to jia min and see him off. its quite interesting lol, taking care of his own dad haha. at least his mum just came back today, to save him. and yep tomorrow's finally my turn to do all this things myself. -welp-

anyway, after that, we went to pass jia min his stuff, and ended up stalking him as he left haha. epic as always. saw his mum too, 'by coincidence'. yea it was fun :D. so now jookee and jiamin are both overseas... hope they're having fun. jookee's like spam tweeting even in japan lol. and ok la my turn will come soon :D. going to phillipines ~~ 

for ARP, our professor finally mentioned it la. since everything is not working anyway. its better like that, being honest. we'll just put it in our report to say that this doesn't work, and just list down everything we tried and what improvements could be made. at least we can stop pretending this works and stress out ourselves trying to make things up. its much more of a relief and an honest way out actually. 

anyway, since we don't really care for the competition, at least this way it'll be a little bit useful. its basically something like 'don't eat pufferfish or you'll die, cos we tried it'. so yea, huge relief. still need to go school tmr siannnn. one last effort, make a good prototype, finish the report. doesn't matter if nothing was really achieved. at least got learn quite abit of things and have our effort commended. phew.

but today was actually quite a fun day. drank coffee, ate ice-cream. followed boon chong's mum's car back to the bus station near his house, then taking 81 from there. much more comfortable than standing mrt, even though it was longer. talked alot of things, borderlands, orientation, learning jap. haha my day's keep getting burnt by all this travelling, but its quite fun actually. 

anyway, my maid is going already, and i still haven't really corrected my waking up time :/. always fall back asleep after hearing my 9 o'clock alarm, and end up waking up at 10... at least got slight improvement la, no later than 12 now lol. so challenge: wake up at 6:30 tomorrow. lol im challenging with my mum to see who wakes up first haha. if i lose i need to pay $10 lolol

making meatballs again :D

been awhile since i last posted. seriously, why is the holidays so fast lol? its like 7 dec alr.

today i learned two really nice dishes, though two were almost the same from yesterday. my sis likes the veg i cooked yesterday haha. so today there was more of it + dong fen or something like that. then got tempura chicken with mayo and fried fish with spring onions. its nice to learn how to make the dishes that u like :D.

anyway, went to boon chong's house on wednesday. supposed to meet up at serangoon with nicole and boon chong, but cos i was too used to just taking mrt solely for going to school, i stupidly went all the way to outram before i realised i could change at paya lebar. so from early became 6 mins late lol. why does this stuff always happen? >.<

anyway, after eating lunch, met pin, adrian and andreea at the supermarket, then went to boon chong's house. its super nice la. and super big too lol. 4 storeys. that's more than andreea's house haha. its a bit too big for me lol. at first we just wanted to sit there and slack haha.

my job was to cut onions. alot of big onions lol. which i kinda just learned how to the day before haha. i cut like crap though lol. so uneven haha. but nvm de, cos we just chucked everything into the soup. but walao i think it was like around 15 onions lol. took 1 hour just to cut them :0. yea that's the number of onions they chucked into the soup haha.

after that it was time to make the meatballs. added some crumbs at first, like from biscuits, and potato chips... lol. ended up eating while crushing them haha. but din't even taste them anyway :0. andreea mixed them again, as usual, with the raw egg and slimy meat haha. then after that, they gave me the job of making the meat balls to me and nicole. which was a pretty good bad idea.

so ended making really random stuff haha. there were snowmen, nuggets, rings, christmas trees, and gingerbread men haha. then after that there was still alot of meat left, so made the letter 'merry x'mas'. sad thing was almost everything got destroyed after frying. but nvm la make for fun de.

the 'merry x'mas' managed to survive haha, after some reassembling of certain parts that fell out. so after frying, andreea arranged it on the plate and it looks so nice haha. a bit burnt, but still :D. this kinda gives me an idea haha. gonna scrap whatever bbq i was planning and replace it to baking :D. then can make all kinds of random stuff i want haha.

after that we ate upstairs, then after that they started playing the 'i have never' game again haha. and telling stories. anticlimatic stories. like jookee's bus driver one haha. and andreea told 'ghost stories'. and then talked about alot of random stuff too, until ten. i went to follow pin and nicole to pasir ris, and reached home at like 12, and simply crashed

anyway, today, me and my mum went out to eat, and looked around for gifts to buy too, since my mum needed to buy a gift for her party for gift exchange. there was this display at tampines mall, with a lot of nice christmas things that makes u feel happy. feel like buying this kind of gifts, because i know if i get one i'll be like :D :D :D. so yea, today was like one of the few times i actually enjoy shopping haha, other than the 'supply runs' our cluster used to have.

we ended up buying a christmas tree :D. so yayyyyy lol. its like the first time in years since we celebrated christmas properly haha. of course there's no santa claus and stuff like that haha, but the christmas tree is so pretty :D. some parts have like optical fiber filaments that keep changing colour. so nice :D :D.

this really makes me feel like organising some mini-christmas party now haha. seriously, this is like the first time im actually celebrating christmas properly lol. my mum also asked me whether i wanted to host a mini-christmas party.

maybe i shud fix a date. like next friday, eat lunch, look around at gift stores, bake christmas cookies and eat roasted turkey chicken. since so matter ppl prolly can't make it, i'll just try to invite ppl i know who are free ba.

first course

yo its been a long time since i last posted. and damn its kinda fast that its already tuesday. maybe cos i've been doing something that wastes too much of my time lol.

anyway, today, i finally made dinner :D. nah not really i was supervised plus half of the stuff were prepared or done for me cos its my first time seeing it. nevertheless, i saw a lot of things today... so now i know where all the pots and utensils are put. where the food is kept, the utensils, the clothes, etc.

and now i know the portion of each person, so today's dinner i finally ate my fair share of food lol. i ate enough fish for once, together with the bell peppers and stuff, so that they won't go uneaten. wow its really alot of stuff i realised today lol.

shan't go into the details, but basically, its fried chicken, fried fish with bell peppers and sauce, and sambal beans. well kinda, i don't exactly know what's the names of all the veg in the fridge lol. but that dish is kinda one of my favourites, so yay :D. before i saw my maid cut it, i din't even recognise it lol. see i don't even know what im eating haha.

frying was somewhat tricky though. but other than the danger of getting scalded, most of the time the wok is closed so its just waiting and making other preparations for other stuff. but still, its kinda dangerous lol. there are like a lot of different ways for me to get burnt. never dry wok add oil, never lower fire add in food with water content, accidentally touch the wok cover, drop food into oil too suddenly etc, etc. so maybe when my maid comes back my hand will be covered with burns haha.

there really was alot of different things to take note of, like where all the stuff were or what to prepare, but i think i said enough liao ba. so all this is like preparation for like the 7+ days where my maid would be away and im not going out or anything. but knowing myself, i'll probably give up halfway lol. i'll be quite proud already if i could prepare my own lunch that is not always instant noodles, though i eat that quite often :P. unhealthy, unhealthy...

but let's say, let's just say it works, so im gonna make learn like three different courses of dinner, then repeat them every three days. that's pretty far fetched but yea, so cool :D. im not going to do the other housework though lolol. but if i can handle dinner for everyone that'll be pretty cool :D

anyway, last sunday, went to kampong chai chee cc. was supposed to go early to like talk to the teacher since i haven't registered yet and i still don't know their level of jap. thing was i slept really late, so my parents left for gym without waking me, and i remember my maid woke me, but i fell back asleep till like almost 10 D:

so what followed was a mad rush to bedok. turned out the cc was definitely NOT 25m away from the station lol. i ask which stop to get off from the bus driver, but he told me one stop after bedok station when actually, its through the underpass at bedok station. and like a 500m walk at least. so i took 30 mins to get there D:. was like 11:05 when i reached the cc, and i was swearing at myself all the way lol.

still had to wait at the office at the cc, and the ppl kinda ignored me until 11:30. ok la not really la. there wasn't a queue, but ppl who came in seem to get attended to first, but prolly cos they already talked to the admin already ba. but damn i was quite frustrated during that time. now i see reason lol.

so the anticlimatic thing was the teacher wasn't there for that day. maybe the previous week, where the first lesson started, the ppl were informed, but i din't go, so i wouldn't have known. anyway, i dunno whether to laugh it off or not, but i know one thing. don't sleep late on saturday night haha. there problem solved :D.

ok la this post has been extremely wordy haha. recently started watching nichijou. first episode is abit overdone, but its epic funny haha. thinking of continuing running man too, cos i stumbled on a episode on tv, and it got me to like it again haha. so yea, looks like i won't be trying out final fantasy this hols. plus next week, really, really need to wake up at like nine latest. slowly trying to correct my waking time haha.

ok la nothing else to say already. actually still got, but shall save it for another time lol. going to boon chong's house tomorrow. i think sleepover's cancelled, but still :D. ok bye ~~
