natsumatsuri :D

today was really great, cos i went for 夏まつり, which means summer festival. its at the jap school not very far from my house. actually i kinda came in a whim, but still, i really enjoyed it haha. but yea i kind of feel like showing off that i went (^o^)

actually, me and jookee went to the expo first. originally went there just to see what ACME was about. was quite interesting. not going to elaborate much ba, cos AFA is probably much better. went to food fair awhile too and bought the spicy chicken thing like the one at clementi mall. i saw him using the oil from some kerosene looking like can >.<. quite nice, but gah the oil...

then we went to the jap school for natsumatsuri :D. its darn fun heheh. quite a number of ppl were wearing yukatas. and there were so many japs coming here for the festival. its darn cool cos half the ppl here were speaking in jap.

entrance to the place :D

derp face /o\

at first, me and jookee went around all the booths there. i was quite tempted to buy their snacks lol. damn i shouldn't have bought the chicken if i knew there would be so much food here... it was pretty crowded . but the atmosphere was pretty good haha.

after buying some meiji ice cream and o-cha, we went around trying to take photos of it to make pin jealous :P. since jookee invited him lolz. but actually the festival ground is more interesting lor. it was a really large field and there was a stage there in the middle, lots of picnic mats for ppl to sit around, and carnival games at one side. we went to the back of the stage, which was quite empty for some reason, to see them up close lolz.

yea the place looks like this :D

the queue for the games was really long, so we just walked in from the side to see what they were doing. there were using nerf guns to shoot pyramids of stuff. and the other was some fishing thing where u use a strip of wet paper with a hook at the bottom to fish 'balloon yoyos' out. apparently jookee cheated on it last year, cos he covered the strip to prevent it from getting wet, so it doesn't break /o\.

anyway, after that we walked to see the rest of the booths. there was a jap game haha. they give flash cards and ur suppose to use the toy hammer to hit the grid with the right jap word. there were words i dint know, but haha it was easy. got two spins on the lucky wheel :D. won a pencilcase and a coaster. kinda useful actually :D

there was also a photo booth there, and then we realised it was free. so... even though i really can't pose for photos, we still did it anyway lol. added fake moustache, and some dialogue bubble on a stick. me and jookee were super derp oh my god. especially the jump shot. thank goodness its not going to be shown anywhere /o\..

we also took some brochures, to plan for our grad trip next year! :D. and there was some english teacher job offer where u get to go to japan and teach english. kinda interesting. the guy told us the pay was 4000 a month. not in yen of course /o\

after that me and jookee went to look at the shirts. i really liked the 2005 one, but only L size left. though i had money to buy, din't end up buying the others though. not like jookee. no money for AFA still buy 2 t-shirts XP. ok la this one is somewhat worth it cos its quite nice material actually. can wear in hostel. but lol $20 heh.

was about 7 plus by the time we finished. we were trying to find the お菓子 (candy). cos we saw someone eating some candied apple before that. but couldn't find lolz. so by the time we went back down to the field, it was the last two performance liao. the field looks really nice at night, with all the lanterns. somewhat like mid-autumn festival.

jookee spent so much time trying to take the lanterns though lolz

盆踊り jap folk dance :D

anyway, we went to the back of the stage again lolz. jookee was taking the photos, while everyone else was doing the dance. woa the atmosphere was really great lolz, so i also ended up copying :o. din't join in the circle of ppl surrounding the stage la lolz.

after that the thing ended. walked back home from there. not very far actually. just two times the normal distance :D. anyway, it was really fun. really liked the atmosphere. and this festival was really a japanese festival, instead of all the cosplayers and manga and anime posters. there's so much more to japan than that :D.

ok nothing else le. bye~~

we need to be more bold to make things happen
