second week of hostel le. got lessons now. im sian of the waking up part every morning, but other than that i think its kind of fine, still. lessons make me sleepy, cos its cold. and i dont have hardik's ipod to play with. but so far everything is manageable.
ah damn screw chronological order im gonna use a different style for this post. gonna rate the lessons and teachers instead.
so firstly
English: 3/5 - Mr Valles is not bad, knows his stuff. damn sian though cos this module need write alot of essays. and yea though the teacher is nice, he is kind of boring. But at least sometimes the lesson is interesting.
Chinese: 4.5/5 - my god can't believe i rate it so high. prolly drop in the future. but right now Chinese is awesome. Li Liangzi is a damn good teacher lor. even with Yu Fong who keeps crapping, she is not the kind of teacher who gets pissed, but rather just laughs it off. and yea so far the worksheet we done in class was kind of interesting, with different format. but yea the thought of preparation of H1 is daunting...
Math: 4.5/5 - one of the more fun classes. Mr Lim damn interesting and engaging de. his personality very nice and humorous de. as in not the lame Mr Yeo kind, but the engaging kind of person. but he quite slow cos he very detailed. contentwise abit boring though. i find math too specific le, shortcut then the teacher will minus mark de -.- so far math is quite easy, so sometimes i feel really drowsy... fell asleep once lolz. i felt guilty...
Physics: 3/5 - lessons are kind of dead. Mr Poh is quite nice and detailed, but not very engaging. not much joking in this class de... content very little de also. abit boring. but after awhile should be more challenging and interesting le...
Chem: 4/5 - lessons are not bad, and dr dewey really knows his stuff (cos its dr (not mr) dewey). he can even handle chen ge, which is (abit irritatingly) overcritical, but i guess he just wants to learn... anyway, contentwise is challenging and interesting, but gets really difficult sometimes. dr dewey abit serious, but sometimes funny stuff happens too, so chem is not bad.
PE: 3.5/5 - basically its training for NS. dam i got mr fan instead or loke, who is cool btw. the training is hard but somewhat meaningful, cos the way it was done, it seems really beneficial and helpful, and yea i hope to get silver this year.
so yea thats the gist bout lessons. anyway the major events.
monday - everyone was really anxious and worried today. lessons was abit sian too cos monday is 5 hours. weird thing was that last year every day was long, but this year, 5 hours is hard to handle -.-. anyway, o-level results were released and damn its kind of unfair. im sorry lee, foo, nicole. shudnt have said what i said. i know u might not blame me, but yea i feel kind of guilty...
so yea it was actually my birthday that day, so i got well wishes. but yea mood was shitty. ended up playing skyrim that night cos no one was in mood to play. foo was wrecked according to jookee.
tuesday - today's lesson was kinda short. went to tv room again. i like that super smash bro game on wii, but then its bad for friend relationship, and scrabble is a much better alternative. i should play scrabble more, cos its really interesting.
then later everyone decided to hang out in our room, so we were talking happily, while i was failing at skyrim (which i think i should not play whenever frens are visiting, cos i should engage more). then hema came in and everyone basically told him to screw off, but this time he actually left with that hurt kind of look...
then we went to shop together, which was the plan. was kind of fun at first, basically talking crap, while jm was saying some really ghey stuff and wong was sticking to chee like a freakin tapeworm... shopped for food, and i think weiren was around, was it? anyway, was fun, until hema send a really weird sms (i roughly knew what it was about), and everyone went back in concern and pissedness, while me and chee, wong and weiren stuck around.
was kinda screwy, cos we not much mood left to shop, but i couldnt resist buying wasabi flavoured chips anyway. went back around 20 mins later, then at the lift, saw hema smiling with loo. apparently loo kind of likes hema now? at least everything was alright, but everyone seemed pissed. im not involved so i dunno.
went to slack off at games room. not as fun anymore, but yea i played fusbal with andrea. got friendly slapped cos i made comments about her and jw, who was there too at first. then i dunno how long we spent there. i think we played soccer that day, or was it thursday? i think it cheered most ppl up, but yea jm was sleeping and dint come, and some of us (including me) turned up slightly late, except for jookee, who turned up really late.
actually i dont really like recounting monday and tuesday cos i dont want to rake up old unhappy feelings, and yea it seems kind of insensitive. so yea cheer up everyone. gonna used a quote from twewy (DS game lolz haha. weiren and jook plays them too). "enjoy every moment u've got". "live ur life the way u want to".
yea i know it sounds kind of fake-ish, but yea since ur in hostel shud enjoy urself ma. comparing to life travelling from home to school and vice versa, i think this way is much better, and i get to do lots of stuff, and all the interesting stuff other ppl share. not bad what, dont u think?
so yea the emoish days are over.
wednesday - apparently foo kissed wei ren, or at least i found out about it that day. jookee was making it so big la. apparently lots of ppl know about it alr. such scandals spread so fast in hostel, no? anyway, i think i went to 505 during break. apparently indian names have meanings. like shree is god, wtfactor man... and ram is strength. kesh is money LOL (obviously thats not the true meaning). so i was wondering what is hema?
obviously ppl said nasty stuff la LOL. was kinda epic. and yea i have problems with shree's full name. yea anyway epic time there.
after lunch, went to games room (again). dam everyone was there while i entered at like 2:35, played the thing for 10 min, and got chased out cos i was late for the bus. made it at exactly 3 la, but thats not the point... i wasnt last to get there though.
anyway, went over to NUS. whenever i go to uni (by cca, orientation, excursions etc), i feel this weird feeling of purpose around me. like everyone there seems to know what they are doing, and it seems really productive. makes me feel kinda small there (actually i am small, in more than one way).
so yea went to the DCC room. was kinda new. wasnt super impressive la, and workshops apparently not many people were impressed. but somehow i felt i could do things here, once one of us (pin, boonchong or me) thinks of a good idea for the project.
and yea they had whiteboards full of post-its to. i realised that everyone is the same when thinking for an idea. lost and aimless, and really random. we see that in the post-its. half of them were just random wishes or feelings or desire of some impossibility (actually i shudnt think about impossibles). but then when numerous of them are put together and sorted, we start seeing the possible thoughts ppl think about whatever the thing is currently, like the mrt system is kind of undesirable. the post-its kind of form a list of problems ppl face and their emotions. and thats where ppl start solving the problem. wonderful, isnt it?
after seeing those things, i felt it may actually be possible to achieve something useful out of this. it isnt that kind of foreignish and super professional kind of atmosphere there, but more of friendly and slow, taking ur time, until u get a really good idea kind of atmosphere. im starting to feel like we can to make something good. we just havent found that brilliant moment yet.
so yea, was kind of enriching and exciting. but yea id like to take it slow, cos im a procrastinator :o. see how it works out. course starts on Feb 1.
after that was kind of late when we came back. i dunno what u guys did, please share :D. cant remember much about that day liao, other than the fact that there was cleaning, which im starting to get sian off. the rest did most of it, cos i forgot there was cleaning that day, and was 6 when i came back. so i only had to remove hair from the lid of the drainage opening of the bathroom, which apparently wasnt that disgusting as pin, jm and jordan put it. or maybe OBS gave me tolerance of disgusting stuff. after all ur just sweeping it off and just wash hands and its done? yea easy job man :P
and yea i never mentioned but i hate doing laundry. gah cos my mum and maid does it like its so easily, and they fold everything so nicely, and when i do it i get pissed at how i cant do it the way they do, my shirt cant fold nicely de, and im lazy to hang some shirts... god i just hate chores involving clothes. so yea naturally i had this "bathing is a waste of clothes" mindset, cos i feel so sian doing those chores.
ok so i think thats bout it for wednesday
thursday - i was kinda free whole of today. i think we played soccer or something in the afternoon, no? but dam im sure something happened today... cant rmbr le. only remember lee, fiona, pin, loo and me went out to buy stuff, and jm oso went out to eat class dinner, while the rest we dint let them join :P
so anyway, we took 40! minutes to reach the mall (or so fiona said). and yea we took real long to choose the gift lee intended to buy for his exchange prog friend. basically we walked around the whole mall looking for something to buy... cos we suck at choosing gifts LOL. in the end lee bought a wallet. oh yea and i got interested in this 3D puzzle i saw in popular. too bad dint bring wallet to buy though.
so yea came back, and we were fooling around in our room haha. apparently, pin couldnt find his cadbury (not chocalate, but his toy elephant), cos jordan hid it somewhere. and damn i wouldnt be able to find it too, if png dint give clues. seriously a damn epic place la. pin took damn long to find, and all the time png was laughing hysterically, and yea was damn stupid hiding place haha. under jm's blanket.
basically thats all i can remember for today
friday - this day was super fun man. morning only had math, and mr lim was being really funny today. and he called chen ge a famous singer. it turned out to be a joke, that he actually dint know chen ge could sing, but wow, good guess. and the boy girl thing he shared damn epic la. basically the trend is girls dont go for guys who are not better than them. so...

basically the boy goes for the girl that is one row below, so by induction rule (wth man, cracked the whole class up when he said it), the smart girls and the dumb boys stay single. yea and he was encouraging dating at this age, cos he feels that everyone shud start a family cos thats life. he'd make a cool parent man.
oh yea speaking bout dating, its on a much higher scale nowadays. foo likes ji, alot, u can tell de. lots of gossip. then apparently lee likes a girl too, i dunno who, cos no one would tell me, but yea all the last liners of his blog. and pin has those last liners too. i think fiona also right, cos she keeps talking about this "him", but no name de. so naturally, i feel left out :o. im so not ready though.
yea and weiren, jookee and galen were talking bout it, and fiona was there, so her curiosity got piqued about who foo likes, and everyone trolled her LOL, until lee told her like 10 mins later. she actually took away jk's laptop and phone to make him say la LOL (desperado).
gah anyway, i... dunno who would like me... cos im different from normal guys. all this love talk getting to my head that im wondering bout myself. im not referring to jm (no, u stay away...). yea cos whenever i get curious and ask, ppl just say like another guy or something... (like wong and chee that kind). like i think i can get friends who are girls, but i cant easily get someone who would like me... and who i would like back :o
like i often wonder what girls see in guys. i know what guys see in girls... cos im a guy, but what do girls see in guys...., other than the fact that the guys likes her? so good lor girls get the privilege to choose. and yea im too shy... so good luck, man.

ok anyway, there was class outing planned today. many ppl attended! not bad for first class outing. super fun la. haha i get to lead the class cos they couldnt decide where to eat. ok not really lead hehe, cos even as mentor rep, i know im not the leader kind of person, while seeu kun obviously is. but anyway, we almost went to burger king, but we stuck to eating at fish & co. and damn, it was so worth the time and money haha.
lol they showed me these magazine with the cool dude on the cover. then when they flipped it, it was joanne peh in a bikini o.o. i actually flinched lolz. does this prove im innocent? :o
anyway jordan actually posed for a picture. damn cute de him eating the two fish-shaped coaster (ARGH WHY STILL NO PHOTO OF THAT OUTING POSTED). i too shy to pose lolz...
jordan went back school early, cos he needed to meet his mum. then they went shopping. by then i was the only guy left lolz, with like 8 other girls :o (im not trying to say anything here, wait, maybe i am). na la traditionally i stick around as long as possible in every outing i go.
bought myself the 3D grape puzzle le as my birthday present. haha those ppl who saw was like "oh, ur birthday present..." kind of reaction cos yea. but its alright, i like things like that. challenging puzzles, or toys and other stuff related to the things im obsessed to, like the anime im watching or the games im playing.
took bus back. talked bout class heirarchy lol. apparently in 09, junhui and wanqi is king and queen, and meizhen is princess. cos she volunteered to be one. omg thick skin sia -.-. and jiamin is the princess' servant, which is a tai jian la LOL. and i dunno the rest.
so we decided we want to make one. but in the end nothing confirm la so i dont think our class will have any such thing...
so yea this 3D puzzle makes a good self-present, though the fun is short-lived. but makes an awesome display anyway. and its 3D, so should be quite challenging too haha. saving it for monday. purposely left it at hostel so that i could enjoy it longer, and not just chiong it at home and all the fun gone.
so yea fun week haha. my class is nice. i dun wanna change class cos of physics honors :o. ok thats it. bye :)
